Welcoming little Abel into the studio at just three weeks old was such a joy! He arrived with his lovely family—mum Lucy, dad Kyle, and his two older siblings, who were all so excited to be part of the session. From the very start, it was clear that Abel was one determined little guy—he had no intention of staying snug in his wrap and kept wriggling his way free! But that’s exactly why my newborn sessions are baby-led. If a baby isn’t enjoying a particular wrap or pose, we simply switch things up and go with their flow.

A Calm & Comfortable Studio for Newborn Photography

Creating a peaceful environment is so important for these early moments. My studio is designed to be a warm, soothing space where both babies and parents can feel completely at ease. With gentle heaters to keep little ones cozy, a baby shusher for soft background noise, and a selection of adorable newborn outfits, everything is set up for a relaxed and enjoyable session. I always aim to capture a mix of images—sweet solo shots of baby, snuggly moments with parents, and, of course, those beautiful sibling interactions that showcase just how loved they already are.

Capturing the Beauty of Abel’s Early Days

Abel may have had his own ideas about wrapping up, but that only made for more natural, personality-filled images! He was happiest stretching out, so we embraced it, capturing those gorgeous newborn details—tiny fingers, delicate eyelashes, and those expressive little stretches. Mum, dad, and siblings all got involved, creating a collection of images that perfectly encapsulated their growing family’s love and connection.

Lucy and Kyle loved their session so much that they decided to purchase their full gallery of 40 images—a wonderful keepsake of this fleeting newborn stage. And the best part? They’ve already booked back in for a full family session with the grandparents! I can’t wait to see them all again and document even more special memories as their family grows.
