Baby Lily’s Newborn Session: A Beautiful Family Moment
It’s always such a joy to welcome families into the studio, and baby Lily’s session was no exception! At just three weeks old, she was a bundle of sweetness, with her little features still so fresh and delicate. Her mum, Chelsie, dad, Will, and big sister Ivy came along to capture these precious early moments.
One of my favourite things about newborn photography is witnessing those tiny details that make each baby so unique. With Lily, I absolutely adored capturing the gentle shedding of her newborn skin—such a beautiful, natural process that marks the beginning of her journey in the world. These moments are fleeting, and I’m so glad we were able to document them for Chelsie and Will to cherish forever.
As with many newborn sessions, we start with just the baby to allow for those peaceful, sleepy shots. I always recommend that big siblings join in a little later on—after about an hour or so—so we can focus on those calm, quiet moments without any distractions. It also helps ensure that the older siblings don’t get bored while we work with the baby. Ivy and Will arrived shortly after the hour mark had passed, and it was wonderful to see the family come together for some sibling shots. Ivy was an absolute star, and you can see the love she has for her baby sister in the photos we captured.
Fun fact: Chelsie works for a local nursery, which made the session even more special as she’s so connected to the world of early childhood care. It’s clear she’s going to be an amazing mum to her girls, and the bond they share already shines through in the images we created together.
It was a privilege to capture such a special time for this lovely family. Baby Lily is growing so fast, and I’m thrilled they have these memories to look back on as she continues to grow into the little person she’s becoming!
If you’re thinking about booking a newborn session, I’d love to hear from you! Let’s create something beautiful together.
